Levis 501 is really a legend. Straight cut pair of jeans, with an usual mid-rise. These jeans fit regular through the hips and thighs. Jeans designed with 5-pocket style. Closed with its traditional button fly. Classic patch back-pockets. The fabric is generally 100% cotton.

The 501's cut hasn't always been the actual one, conforming to fashion. In the 20's, the leg was strongly wide, nearly baggy. From 60's to 90's, the leg was slightly tapered, carrot style, with a relaxed and higher waist. The current design has emerged in 2003, returning to a standard straight cut as 1947's product.

Levis 501 denim jeans have its original name (or number) from Amoskeag upmarket selvage denim lot number (501XX) : this denim was used by Levi Strauss all 1890's long to make his pants.
