Did you know ?  Levi's jeans have undergone many changes in nearly 150 years. Amongst them the abandonment of the functional cinch back, designed to adjust the trousers to the size (however, 'decorative' cinch at the back of the waist has made his comeback these last few years), and buttons on the belt required for fixing the shoulder straps. The belt having imposed itself, belt loops make their appearance. Rivets on the pockets also led to numerous changes, especially given that when cowboys took to jeans and the rivets were bothering them while clinging to the saddle: they had then to be partially hidden behind stitches. These rivets disappeared completely during the Second World War due to the restriction of metals.
