Did you know ?  In 1996 G-Star brings on the market a new 'raw denim' collection with the jewel being the Elwood style. The particularity of the Raw denim (also known as dry denim or plain denim) is that its fabric has had no treatment nor any washout. It comes then in a dark indigo colour. For many decades after their appearances and until the end of the 50's, jeans were obviously all 'raw' : raw denim fans claim the authentic look of their favourite fabric. G-Star works mainly with raw denim, it has become part of the philosophy of the company, thus, keeping away from today sophisticated faded looks.
